Estimasys was born from a simple question: why does estimating the cost, time and routing of a mechanical part still depend so much on spreadsheets, manual lookups and tacit manufacturing knowledge?
The part's geometry already contains a relevant part of the information needed to estimate its production. The challenge lies in turning that data into an analysis that is understandable, reviewable and useful for whoever needs to make a decision.
The platform accepts STEP, STP and STL files, analyzes the part's geometry and generates an indicative cost estimate, a suggested blank and a preliminary manufacturing routing. The goal is not to replace the process engineer, but to offer an initial technical reference to speed up analysis, purchasing and discussions with suppliers.

Estimasys was developed by integrating different technical skills linked to PUCRS:
- Mechanical Engineering — machining process modeling, geometry analysis, cutting parameters, fixturing, tolerances and manufacturing constraints.
